About The PTO
The Friends of Ray School PTO supports the school, its teachers, and students and families through fundraising and volunteer efforts.
The PTO works year-round to support various programs and activities. In addition to providing funds for extra classroom materials, the PTO sponsors cultural and community celebrations, lunchroom activities and programs like music and other after school activities.
Who We Are
The Friends of Ray School PTO supplements the basic educational program provided at William H. Ray Elementary School by funding and developing programs in such areas as music, fine arts, performing arts, science and computer education.
The PTO Board is made up of parents, teachers, and administration.
The Ray eNewsletter is funded by the PTO, and we also support the beautiful gardens around the school.
The PTO’s primary fundraisers include a taffy apple, popcorn and candy sale in the fall, the Walk-a-Thon in the spring and the food court at the 57th Street Art Fair at the end of the school year.
The PTO recruits volunteers for a variety of events year round, such as the Black History Month Open House and Lunar New Year celebration. To learn more about our events, visit the Ray School events page.

PTO meetings are held on Tuesday, with dinner provided starting at 6 pm and the meeting starting at 6:30 pm in the Ray School cafeteria. Click here to view this year’s schedule.
